Experience the lives and legacy of George and Martha Washington at The Jackson Theatre on Saturday, August 8, with two special events featuring nationally recognized historical interpreters.

The afternoon begins at 2 p.m. with Meet the Washington's, a family-friendly presentation designed to introduce audiences to the lives, personalities and legacy of George and Martha Washington. Guests will have the opportunity to hear stories from America's founding era as the Washingtons come to life through engaging first-person interpretation. Tickets are $15.

Later that evening, The Jackson Theatre will host a separate ticketed event, Dinner with George & Martha: Be Our Guest "In the Room Where It Happens," an immersive evening celebrating early American history through dining, music and storytelling. Guests will enjoy an 18th-century-inspired dinner featuring recipes from Mount Vernon, period music by Muster Grounds Musick, a traditional fife and drum corps, a cash bar featuring 18th-century-inspired cocktails and a selection of bourbons, and a special presentation by George and Martha Washington offering a glimpse into the lives, leadership and personal stories of America's first presidential couple.

Doors open at 6 p.m., with music beginning at 6:30 p.m. and the Washingtons taking the stage at 7:15 p.m. Each dinner ticket includes one complimentary drink ticket for an alcoholic beverage, with additional beverages available for purchase. Pending weather, dinner will be held outdoors in the alley beside The Jackson Theatre, transformed with period décor to create a memorable colonial setting.

These events are part of The Jackson Theatre's ongoing America 250 programming, commemorating the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States through engaging historical experiences that bring the nation's past to life.
