Washington County Courthouse
Jonesborough, TN 37659
How to get there
Kick off the holiday season in Historic Jonesborough with a festive twist straight out of Whoville! Join us for the Whoville Wholiday Shop & Hop on Friday, November 28, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Enjoy a cheerful stroll through Downtown Jonesborough and visit more than ten treat stops featuring delicious Grinch and Whoville-themed goodies. Each stop will offer imaginative sweets inspired by the beloved story; from green and red Whoville cupcakes to Grinch bark and peppermint treats. Attendees can also visit a build-your-own Hot Chocolate Bar, complete with a variety of fun toppings. Horse & Carriage rides will be available for a ticket punch or $5 per person.
While participating, take time to shop small and explore Jonesborough’s many locally owned boutiques, stores, and restaurants. It’s the perfect opportunity to find unique holiday gifts while supporting the merchants who make Tennessee’s Oldest Town so special.
Following the Shop & Hop, gather downtown for the annual Lighting of the Christmas Tree at 6 p.m. Experience the magic as Jonesborough’s 40-foot-tall Christmas tree beside the Washington County Courthouse comes alive with holiday lights! Enjoy a welcome from the Mayor and festive songs performed by local school choirs.
Tickets are $15, and attendees are encouraged to purchase early, as quantities are limited. Tickets can be picked up in front of the Courthouse from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. Each ticket includes access to ten treat stops throughout downtown.
This event serves as a prequel to Whoville Christmas, happening the following day, Saturday, November 29, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
